My experience is broad. After qualifying as an architectural technician, in my mid 20's I returned to five years of full time education and qualified as an architect.

Ten years later I enrolled on the MSc course in Construction Law and Arbitration at King's College London. After that I went on to become a chartered arbitrator.

For most of my professional career I've been based in the South East of England. In 2007 I spent eight months working as a design manager for an architectural outsourcing company in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. After that I lived in Pelion, Greece for eight years. There then followed a few years in Derbyshire before moving back south, to Hythe in 2018.

My interest in things new gives me the enthusiasm to keep abreast of modern methods of working. I use 3D design software, which enables me to quickly prepare clear visualisations of my ideas. My legal training helps me to quickly focus on the changes in legislative and procedural matters that one is faced with in the design and procurement of buildings.

I've worked on buildings in the private housing, social housing, commercial, retail, healthcare and leisure sectors, from the perspectives of sole practitioner, practice partner, contractor and arbitrator.

In addition to the design, production information and project management services that architects provide, I'm able to help in matters relating to planning appeals and construction disputes.

My services can be tailored to suit your needs and I'm happy to charge on either a fixed fee, or hourly rate basis. Lately, the majority of my work has been for private clients, dealing with remodelling and new build projects. I intend to continue working as a sole practitioner as this enables me to remain competitive by providing my services free of VAT.

I understand the practicalities of building. I’ve built, reconstructed and remodelled several of my own properties.
